Paypal and warning

Postby Tom1561 » Sun Jun 23, 2013 10:24 pm

First question. Why is Google warning me for phishing attempts when entering this site.

Second. Is it possible to accept paypal since I don't to spend money on a credit-card. And I still want to support this awesome game. :D

When you say Google is warning you about phishing, are we talking about the search engine, Chrome or something else? And when exactly did you see it?

I have a clean bill of health from their safe browsing checks, and they haven't mentioned anything via webmaster tools, so I'm not sure what else it might be:

Oh yeah, if you send me a Paypal payment to jackoekaki@yahoo.com with your game account e-mail address, I can unlock you.

Hmm, it's not happening for me. I don't suppose I could get a screenshot if you're still seeing it? That might help clarify what's actually issuing the warning. Otherwise, it'd help to know which page it happens on (blog, forum, the game front page, etc.)

Well, this is frustrating. The safe browsing registry evidently only covers malware, and phishing is a whole 'nother blacklist with no apparent way to ask it whether a page is on it. I've reported it as a false positive but Google still haven't gotten back in touch.

To check for the possibility that I got hacked and something was planted on the server, I've been diffing the filesystem against version control and unmodified downloads of wordpress and phpBB. I've also reviewed Google's index of the site and the access logs to see if there's something unfamiliar but it all looks normal. I'm stumped. If anybody has more details about precisely which page the warning appears before and what it looks like it'd be really helpful.
